profile

Russell Bunge, author, publisher, and internet media developer, works from his home studio in San Luis Obispo, California. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English - creative writing from California State University, Long Beach. While working for AT&T Communications, he earned his Master's of Arts in Humanities from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

After twenty years of service with AT&T, Russell worked as a volunteer during the start-up phase of the "text-based" San Luis Obispo Free-Net (later named SLONET.org; currently KCBX.net). SLONET provided "free" dial-up access to the Internet for elementary and secondary schools and county libraries, and low-cost access for the community. Russell became SLONET's first Education Coordinator in 1994. He hand coded his first hyper-text (graphical user interface) page that same year.

Russell retired from his web development and consulting services at the end of 2008. Now, at the end of 2009, friends, family, and clients have amazingly recruited him back into the web business.

Current interests include transmedial narrative, memetic engineering, consciousness studies, and the issues of creativity and conformity.
